Core Values

Separate from the confessions to which we hold, there are core commitments we ascribe to as a church to maintain a healthy environment in which you can grow closer to the Lord.

Sola Scriptura

The only divinely inspired, inerrant, authoritative, and sufficient rule of faith for Christians are the Holy Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16-17, John 17:17, 1 Corinthians 4:6). Confessions, Creeds, and other statements of faith may be helpful, but only the Bible has the power to bind the conscience. Everything Christians believe must be pulled from and point back to the Bible.

The Gospel

We stand on the truth that salvation is in Christ alone, offered by grace alone, and received by faith alone, to the end that God alone would be glorified.

The Church

We believe God has ordained the local Church to display His glory and sanctify His people through the proper preaching of the Word, administration of the ordinances/sacraments, and practice of discipline. The Church consists of regenerate members, is led by a plurality of elders, and is served by deacons.

Prayer

We believe in the power and necessity of prayer. No Church or Christian is as healthy as their prayer life. We sustain our spiritual lives in communion with Christ, corporate and individual, through fervent and faith-filled prayer.

Missions & Evangelism

At the lake and to the ends of the earth, we live to preach the Gospel and make disciples.

Family Integration

At FBCLW, we embrace age-integrated worship services. We believe God calls all of His people, from the youngest to the oldest, to worship together in the corporate assembly. Not only this, but we seek to equip parents to be the primary disciple-makers of their children.
